Paul has worked for 25 years in the Commonwealth Public Service. He has significant experience in international negotiation and policy relating to defence, international trade, climate change and foreign relations.
As a representative for international trade Paul focused on bilateral negotiations for businesses that would benefit from government support, increasing the chance of success in otherwise unattainable markets.
Paul has been an executive director of the Business Council of Australia, a body which consists of the Chief Executive Officers of approximately 90 of the 100 largest companies in Australia. He is director of Australia 21 Limited, a non-profit research organisation focusing on complex problems that could be of strategic importance to Australia in the 21st century.
Awards & Qualifications:
Paul Barratt was made an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia for service to public administration, public policy development, business and international trade.
